Machining Scenario Dialog box

The Machining Scenario dialog box appears when you select New Machining Scenario and sets up the requirements for that scenario.

This dialog box contains controls for:

This page discusses:

Name, Behavior

Name
Insert a name, or use the defaults.
Behavior
This section lists the behavior.

Excitations

Activity
This lists the Activities used for this scenario, select the required ones accordingly.
Simulation State
This lists the Simulations States, select the require ones accordingly.

Probes

Probes

Select the probes required they by using the arrows move them to the other column.

Parameters

Enable Sweep Based Continuous Clash Detection
Allows Clash Detection in MSR context.
Cutting Tool Condition
Lets you select one of the following options from the Cutting Condition list:
  • Nominal
  • Maximum Wear
  • User Defined
Note: These options do not appear if you set the simulation options in the Machining Scenario dialog box.
Activate Machine Kinematic
Activates machine kinematics during machine simulation.
Specific Rough Stock
Defines a specific rough stock.
Distance Based Simulation
See Simulations that are Based on Distance Instead of Time
Generate Animation

Enables or disables the animation generation in scenario results when launching the Simulate and Generate Results command from the scenario.

  • Start time: Defines the start time of the simulation.
  • End time: Defines the end time of the simulation.
  • Time step: Defines the time step for the simulation. This is only useful in continuous mode.

NC Code Based Simulation

If NC Code Based Simulation is checked, the simulation is based on the NC Code. If the Live Simulation display preference is set to a thumbnail, an icon appears at the bottom right of the thumbnail indicating that the scenario is based on the NC Code.

If the NC Code simulation is activated, it is possible to define Tool Compensation parameters in the button Tool Compensation Table. These parameters are specific to the scenario and are persistent. This shows the Parameter if it is a Radial Top or Radial Profile. The data (Tool Name, Tool Number, Corrector ID, Length, User Length, Radius, etc) is shown in the Turning Tool tab, or the Milling tool tab.

Enable Material Removal
See NC Simulation Options.
Synchronize Material Removal with Simulation Steps
See NC Simulation Options.
Mount Offset
The Mount Offset option enables you to change the mount position by editing the mount offset in the dialog box Edit Mount Offset Values . You can either choose to define mount offset for the setup or the fixture. To define the mount offset values, you can either enter the values in the dialog box or use the compass manipulator in the current view. The setup or fixture position in the current view is updated to the new mount offset position. These parameters are specific to the scenario and are persistent. When multiple scenarios are defined with different mount offset, the setup or fixture is updated according to the active scenario.
