Manufacturing Pattern Dialog Box

The Manufacturing Pattern dialog box provides options for managing manufacturing fasteners within the manufacturing pattern. This dialog box gives access to the Options dialog box that allows you to modify parameters of the manufacturing pattern.

To access the Manufacturing Pattern dialog box, select Manufacturing Pattern from the Drilling Riveting section of the action bar or double-click an existing manufacturing pattern in the Manufacturing View.

The dialog box contains the following commands:
Add Manufacturing Fastener to the Pattern
Adds a manufacturing fastener to the manufacturing pattern.
Remove Manufacturing Fastener from Pattern Selection
Removes the selected manufacturing fastener from the manufacturing pattern.
Reverse the Direction of All the Selected Positions
Inverts the axis of the selected point. If no point is selected, reverses the direction of all the manufacturing fastener positions.
Go to a Specific Fastener in 3D View
Reframes on the selected manufacturing fastener in the work area.
View the Secondary Parameters of Pattern
Opens the Options dialog box to let you modify other parameters of the manufacturing pattern.
Move Up the Selected Manufacturing Fasteners
Moves the manufacturing fastener up in the list.
Move Down the Selected Manufacturing Fasteners
Moves the manufacturing fastener down in the list.
Split the Pattern into Two Separate Patterns
Creates a manufacturing pattern from the selected one.
Reverse the Pattern Direction
Reverses the direction of the entire manufacturing pattern.
Select the Start Point of the Pattern
Makes the selected manufacturing fastener the start point of the manufacturing pattern.
Reordering Pattern by Shortest Path between Manufacturing Fasteners
Reorders the pattern between two selected manufacturing fasteners, according to the shortest path possible.
Reroute the Manufacturing Fasteners
Reverses the local order between two selected manufacturing fasteners.
Move After the Selected Manufacturing Fastener
Moves the selected rows below the selected manufacturing fastener.
Interpolate Tangent Angle Between Manufacturing Fasteners
Computes tangent interpolation and updates the tangents of the manufacturing fasteners that lie in between selected fasteners.

See Editing a Manufacturing Pattern.

Options Dialog Box

The Options dialog box allows you to modify the following parameters of the manufacturing pattern:

Name
Displays the name of the manufacturing pattern.
Jump Distance
Lets you enter an extra clearance value for moving in rapid motion between the manufacturing fasteners whenever the distance is greater than the approach clearance.
Projection Mode
Lets you choose one of the following modes:
  • Projection: the reference points are projected onto the selected part surface. The projected points and the axis normal to the surface define the manufacturing fastener positions.
  • Top Element: the reference points define the manufacturing fastener positions.
Tool Axis Strategy
Lets you choose one of the following modes:
  • Fixed Axis: the tool axis orientation is the same for all the selected points.
  • Variable Axis: the tool axis orientation can vary from one point to another.
  • Normal to PS Axis: the tool axis orientation is determined by the axis normal to the selected part surface.
Ordering Mode
Lets you choose one of the following modes:
  • Closest: choose this mode to obtain the shortest tool path possible.
  • Manual: choose this mode to obtain a numbered sequence that you define.
Part Surface
Allows you to select a projection surface.
