Creating Manufacturing Fasteners in a Pattern

In this step, you will create manufacturing fasteners from selected points and add them in a manufacturing pattern.


Before you begin: From the Tools section of the action bar, click App Options and in the Select area, select Rectangle Selection Trap .

  1. In the Drilling Riveting section of the action bar, click Manufacturing Fasteners from Position .
  2. In the work area, select all the points using the rectangle trap.
    A red arrow defining the direction appears at each position. By default, the direction is the z-axis one.
  3. In the Create Manufacturing Fasteners From Position dialog box, select a rivet reference name in the Reference name list.
    The parameters of the selected reference appear in the Rivet Parameters area.
  4. From the context bar, click Select a normal support and select the surface closest to the points.
    The direction of the arrows is now normal to the surface.
  5. To reverse the normal direction of the selected fasteners, from the context bar, click Reverse the direction .
  6. Select Create Pattern and click OK.
    The manufacturing fasteners are created in a manufacturing pattern under the manufacturing product in the Manufacturing View.
  7. Double-click the manufacturing pattern and in the Manufacturing Pattern dialog box, click Select the start point of the pattern .
  8. Select a fastener as the start point.
    The fasteners are numbered from the start point.
