Managing Cutting Tools View

You can create or edit tool configuration from the Cutting Tools View view.The view displays all cutting tools of the session and their parameters.

This task shows you how to:


Before you begin: Open Cutting Tools View from the left panel of the session.

Display Cutting Tools

You can filter, order, and customize information by modifying the display in the view. .

  1. Click Select by String to highlight rows whose content correspond to a given text string.
    1. Enter any string in the Type field.
    2. Press Enter.
    Cutting Tools with the corresponding attributes are displayed.
  2. Click Filter Manager to hide or show rows automatically.
    1. Optional: Enter a string in the text field to display only the attributes that contain that string.
    2. Click or to remove or apply a selected filter.
    3. Click Hide/Show All to remove or apply all filters
    Cutting Tools with the corresponding filtered attributes are displayed. When filtering is applied, the filter icon appears in the column header.
  3. Click Attribute Manager to open the attribute panel that displays a list of all the available attribute columns.
    1. Click Apply Hide/Show or to hide or show an attribute column.
    2. Click Hide/Show All Columns to hide or show all the attribute columns displayed in the tree.

      Note: You cannot hide the column Display Name.

    3. Optional: Reorder columns using the up and down arrows.
  4. Click Preset Manager to save column orders and filters as preferred displays.
    1. Enter a name for the preset in the text field and click Create Preset .
    2. Click Save current PPR spreadsheet configuration to save any modifications made to a given preset.
    3. Click Delete Preset to delete the selected preset.
    4. Click Load Preset to load an existing preset.
    5. Click Reset current PPR spreadsheet configuration to revert to the original view (after having applied multiple filters, for example).

Export Content

You can export the contents of the Cutting Tools View to a .txt, .csv, or .tsv file format.

  1. Click Export Content to export the contents of the tree.
  2. Enter a file name.
  3. Specify a location.
  4. Specify the format of the file to be exported: .txt, .csv, or .tsv.
  5. Click Save.

Manage Contextual Menu

Right click any tool or tool assembly to display its contextual menu.

  1. From the contextual menu, click Center Tree to display the tool or tool assembly in the Activities Process Tree.
  2. From the contextual menu, click Edit NC Resource in 3D to open the NC Resource panel.
  3. Click OK.
    The tool or tool assembly panel appears displaying several parameters.
  4. Edit the parameters and click OK.
  5. From the contextual menu, click Properties to open the Properties panel.
  6. Edit the properties parameters.
  7. Click Apply to apply the new properties.
  8. Click OK to save and close.
  9. From the contextual menu, click Delete to delete the tool or tool assembly.
  10. From the contextual menu, click Send to Library. For more information, see Sending a Tool to Library.
  11. From the contextual menu, click Upgrade to update the tool information.
