You can use the Surfaces Regions Preparation dialog box to create and manage regions on a part.

Select Region Preparation from the Build Layout dialog box to display the Surfaces Regions Preparation dialog box.

Surfaces Without Support

You can use the Surfaces Without Support section to designate faces of a part where supports are not to be generated.

These surfaces are taken into account when computing the best orientation.

Click Select Surface and select the face in the work area for which you do not want any support to be created on. The selected faces are highlighted and clicking OK validates the selection.

Regions Creation

This section lets you create a new region. For more information, see Preparing the Parts.

Regions Definition

The section lets you define the parameters of a region. The following parameters are available:

Parameter Description
Name Specifies the name of the support.
Type Specifies the type of support.
Tolerance Specifies the maximum deviation allowed.
Part bodies list Specifies the part bodies associated with the region.

You can click Select Body to associate a part body to a region.
