For the Product Structure
The product structure is filtered as explained below.
This is an illustration of how Product Filtering works:
The structure instance/reference is kept.
You can select any node in the product structure: Only this node and the elements it contains is processed, enabling you to create a new product from only a portion of the initial one. The result depends only of the reference of the node you have selected. Therefore the positions of the geometries and the visibility that are transferred are those of the reference of the node you have selected (if the node you have selected is an instance, Engineering IP Control ignores the overloaded properties of the instance and takes the initial properties of the reference into account).
A product is created.
- The sub-products found in the input product are transferred with the same type:
- A product with a non-shareable representation is transferred as a product with a non-shareable representation.
- A product with a shareable representation is transferred as a product with a shareable representation.
- A 3D Part is transferred as a 3D Part.
- The products thus created get a name derived from that of their counterparts in the original product. Their default name is defined by the About Identifications in Engineering IP Control.
- In the resulting product, a node is created for each node found in the original product that contains visible geometry.
- If a node contains several representations (possibly of several types), each 3D shape representation is transferred and attached to the resulting node in the resulting product. Representations of other types are not transferred.
- The reference planes are always hidden.
- CGR are transferred.
- V4 models are transferred as standard representations.
- In previous releases, an empty PartBody was created for each representation. This is no longer the case.
Management of Invisible Instances in Assemblies
Invisible instances of a product or a representation are not transferred.
An instance is considered as invisible for Product Filtering in a given product if all instances of the same reference are invisible in this given product.
For the Representations
The geometries found in representations are transferred as solids, surfaces, or wireframes and placed in the corresponding new representation.
The solids in representations are created with the graphic properties (color, line type, line thickness, transparency) of their original body, the surfaces, and wireframes are created with the graphic properties of their original feature.
When a visible geometry is found in a body of the original representation, a body with the same name is created in the resulting representation.
Masks found in the representations are transferred.
3D working supports based on the main planes found in the representations are transferred. Other types of working support are not transferred.
The layer attribute on each element of the original representation is always kept.
Current filter and layer of the original representation are not kept in the resulting one.
The current filter is not taken into account: Product Filtering considers the filter All visible is active.
Hybrid Design
An option in the 3D Shape Infrastructure Preferences enables hybrid design inside part bodies and bodies.
Engineering IP Control does not take the status of this option into account: The structure is always copied with the same types, without transformation nor reordering.
