Experience Models Preparation Objects

An Experience Models Preparation object is stored in the database as a preparation of the model. You can work on an existing preparation of an object (current selected model open in session) or create a new preparation for the model.

A prepared model (also referred to as an abstraction) can be a CAD model, a functional model or a logical model. For more information about Requirement - Functional - Logical - Physical basics, see System Finder User's Guide.

About Experience Models Preparation

Before running a preparation process, you must specify the data you will work on (original data or new data—the preparation of the model geometry). An abstraction is a frozen view of your product that is necessary for preparation calculations. Experience Models Preparation creates this representation automatically and adds it to your product structure; a separate abstraction is created for each preparation you perform on a model. You can generate several abstractions of a model for other specific purposes. An abstraction of a model can be created in one of two ways:

In both cases, you must indicate the model on which you are performing the preparation; the model must meet the requirements for the preparation method being used.
