Copying Properties

You can perform a mass copy of attributes from a logical reference to one or more logical references

The bulk edition process consists of the following sub-steps explained in detail.

This task shows you how to:

Select a Source

Right-click the row to be copied and click Copy and do one of the following.
  • Select Attribute.

    The Attribute Selection dialog box opens.

  • Select Space Assignment.

    No such panel opens as the attribute to be copied is space assignment itself.

Copy Attributes

From Attribute Selection dialog box select one or more attributes to be copied.

Title, Instance, and Title Description attributes can be edited.

  • Modified column cannot be selected because it is a system attribute.
  • Maturity column cannot be selected because dedicated lifecycle command has to be used to modify a Maturity.
Note: Rows with category node cannot be selected.

Paste Attributes

  1. Select rows to paste the copied attributes and click Paste.
  2. Click Paste.

    The Copy panel disappears.

    Note: Rows of group node Documents cannot be selected.

Actual Paste

Click Paste.
The values from source row are copied to the selected target row.
Notes:
  • If the copied attribute is not defined on target row, it is not copied. No warning is raised.
  • If the copied attribute is blank (not defined), it is copied to the target row (attribute of the target row will be unset).
  • If an attribute cannot be copied because user has no rights to do so, it is not copied and a warning is raised.
  • In case of multiple selection, not having rights on one item don’t cancel the whole operation A warning is raised for each item having failed.
