Derived Output Support

Design with Creo Parametric supports the checkin of derived output files. These derived output files can be dynamically generated (native) using the Connector functionality by choosing the Automatic option in the Derived Output Options during the Save operation.

You can also choose to generate the Derived Output files manually (user-defined) and make them available in the working directory. In this case, you need to choose the Manual option in Derived Output Options during the Save operation.

Native Derived Outputs

Design with Creo Parametric uses the native CAD tool APIs to programmatically generate these files during checkin based on your preferences and selections. The files are generated in the same directory as the Creo Parametric files and are deleted on completion of the checkin depending on the value of delete_on_checkin in the ProEDerivedOutputOptions.

Note: Derived Output generation does not support Assembly and Assembly Instance types of designs.

Design with Creo Parametric supports the following native derived outputs with the required additions to the Global Configuration Object.

Parts Drawings
JPEG POSTSCRIPT
TIF DXF
IGES IGES
STEP AP242 CGM
CGR PDF
PNG DWG
Linkable Output

For Part Instances in Design with Creo Parametric, the app supports the XPR derived output in addition to the derived outputs mentioned under Parts in the table above.

The app allows some level of control over the generation of JPEG, TIF, and POSTSCRIPT files. For more information, see ProEDerivedOutputOptions: (Multiline String):. Linkable Output, Exact geometry can be asynchronously generated for

CGR for Part or Component types and SVG for Drawing types are mandatory derived outputs that are generated during the 3DEXPERIENCE checkin operation.

For more information about CGR derived output, see CGR Derived Output for Downstream Applications - on Premise Only. Linkable Output, Exact geometry can be asynchronously generated for Creo Parametric Parts and Creo Parametric Part Family Instances to support SIMULIA’s powerful simulation capabilities and other downstream applications
