Creating Supplier Companies

You can create a supplier company.

Searching for Supplier Companies
  1. To create a supplier company, do one of the following:

    Context Actions
    Home Page Click New Supplier Company.
    Click My Network > Actions > New Supplier Company.

  2. Enter the details, as required:

    An error displays for all invalid entries.

    Field Name Option
    Global Properties
    Image The logo or profile image for the supplier company. You can click Upload to upload an image or drag an image to the Image field. To remove the image, click Remove.
    Profile Completion The profile completion score is based on the completion of the profile. As you complete each field the completion percentages update. You can click in the Profile Completion score to view the score weightage:

    • Name 10%
    • Website 5%
    • Description 5%
    • Email 4%
    • Phone 3%
    • Fax 3%
    • Industry 5%
    • Employees 5%
    • Revenue 5%
    • DUNS Number 5%
    • Complete Address 20%
    • Product Categories 15%
    Name Enter the unique supplier company name. The following characters are not allowed: \"$@%*,?<>[]|:;'
    Description Enter a detailed description of the supplier company.
    Website Enter a valid supplier company website. For example,
    • www.monsite.com
    • https://www.monsite.com/param1=value&param2=value2
    • http://www.monsite.com
    • monsite.com
    Email Enter a valid email address for the supplier company. For example,
    • test1@gmail.com
    • test2@domain.co.in
    Phone Enter a valid phone number for the supplier company.
    Fax Enter a valid fax number for the supplier company.
    Address Enter the address for the supplier company.
    Zipcode Enter the supplier company zipcode.
    Note: The zipcode is not always used when determining the GPS coordinates of the address.
    City Enter the city for the supplier company.
    Region Enter the state or province for the supplier company.
    Country Select a valid country for the supplier company.
    GPS Coordinates Latitude Enter valid latitude and longitude coordinates or paste the GPS coordinates in decimal degrees in either field. The first value is the latitude and the second value is the longitude. For example, 1.66621, 42.002.
    Longitude
    Fill/Update GPS Coordinates Click to automatically fill in the GPS coordinates.
    Note: The GPS coordinates depend on accurate address, city, country, zipcode, and region values.
    See position on map Displays the company location in the map preview. After setting the GPS coordinates, you can view the current company location or change the GPS coordinates. Accessing the Map Preview
    Display help Click to display information about the GPS coordinates. To close the information, click outside the box.
    Note: For mobile devices, tap once to open the information and tap twice to close the information.
    DUNS Number Enter the Data Universal Numbering System (DUNS). The 9-digit unique number used to identify businesses.
    Important: Only numbers are allowed.
    Product Categories Using type ahead, click inside this field and enter at least three characters to search for one or more product categories. If the product categories library is not set, a displays. To display the tooltip, hover over .

    You can select a product categories library from Configuration > Service Settings. For more information, see Configuring Service Settings.

    Note: You can click to remove a category from the field.
    Capabilities Using type ahead, click inside this field and enter at least three characters to search for one or more materials used to design the products found for the product categories. The supplier company maintains their own capabilities. If the capabilities library is not set, a displays. To display the tooltip, hover over .

    You can select a capabilities library from Configuration > Service Settings. For more information, see Configuring Service Settings.

    Note: You can click to remove a capability from the field.
    Industry Select the industry associated to the supplier company.

    Relationship Properties
    Level Select the Relationship level for the supplier company:
    • Potential Supplier
    • Candidate Supplier
    • Supplier
    • Partner
    • Refused Supplier
    Potential Supplier is selected by default.
    Preference Status Select the Preference status for the supplier company:
    • Not Preferred
    • Default
    • Preferred
    Default is selected by default.

  3. Click Create.

The new supplier company is listed in the My Network page.
