Pseudonymizing Members

You can easily Pseudonymize the members of a platform in the Manage Data Privacy tab available under the Legal tab of the Platform Management dashboard.

Before you begin: You must remove the member and the granted roles first, including remaining granted roles that are linked to a Grant Roles Only platform.
Important: If they have been used once, licenses are locked for thirty days, and their roles cannot be removed until that period of time is over. In this case, instead of fully removing a member, you can remove his platform access. See Removing Platform Access.

  1. In the Legal tab of the Platform Management dashboard, select the Manage Data Privacy tab.
  2. Do one of the following:
    • To pseudonymize one member only, click Pseudonymize in front of the member.
    • To pseudonymize several members, select them in the list or click Manage Selection > Select All then click Manage Selection > Pseudonymize Selected Members .
Note: To clear the selection, click Manage Selection Deselect All .

You can pseudonymize user data. For more information, see Installation and Setup: 3DEXPERIENCE Platform: 3DEXPERIENCE Platform Administration: 3DSpace: 3DSpace Index: Administering the Index: Pseudonymizing User Data.

  3. Optional: Click Manage Selection Delete Selected Members to delete them definitely from Platform Management .

The users are pseudonymized, and if you have deleted them, they are deleted from the list. Their personally identifiable information is removed from any of their activities within the platform. The contents they have created that are visible to other users will still be visible, but their owner’s name will be displayed as Anonymous User and their picture will be removed.

Note: For example in 3DSwym, if the pseudonymized user's name has been mentioned by another member in any type of content without using an @, his name will not be replaced. His name will also remain visible in existing notifications, but notifications are regularly purged.

In 3DDashboard, if the user belongs to several platforms, the user's name will be removed only after he is pseudonymized from all the platforms he belongs to. However, if a user accesses several platforms and is pseudonymized on one platform only, the owners of the dashboards shared with him are informed by email of his pseudonymization so that they can remove him from the dashboard's members list.

Warning: You should not reuse the username of a removed or pseudonymized member for a new member.
