Adding Members to a User Group

You can add as many members as required to a user group.


Before you begin:
  • You must be an administrator of the platform, the owner of the group or have the manager role granted.
  • At least a user group must exist.
  • If you are a platform administrator and the group is not displayed in the My Groups node, select either of the following:
    • All Groups, to display all the groups of your platform.
    • If you have access to several platforms, > Platforms, then select another platform in the list.

  1. In the User Groups dashboard app, select a user group.
  2. Select either of the following: .
    • In the Members tab, click Add Member and in the Member field, enter either of the following:

      • if the user has already validated the platform invitation, the name of the member.
      • the full user's email if:
        • the user has not validated the platform invitation yet.
        • the user has not been invited to the platform, and your administrator has activated external sharing.

      Click Add.
    • Select the Members tab, and in the top bar search field, enter the name of the user, and in the search results list select the user and drop it to the members section.
      Tip: Minimize the search results list to display both the user group and the results so that you can drag and drop the user.


    Repeat these steps as many times as required.

The member is added and becomes available for any user-group compatible app that would have used the given group. The member automatically inherits any rights granted to the group by any app that would have used it.

Important:
  • If the group is private, the new members will not be aware that they are members of that group.
  • If you add new members to an app using a private group, they will not be aware that they are members of that group.

By default, the list of members is displayed in Tile View. Click Table View to switch the view.
