Checking for Updates

You can check for updates of the 3DEXPERIENCE platform for native apps.

The access to updates might be locked. For more information, see Platform Management dashboard.

This task shows you how to:

Check for Updates through Notifications

In your work session, the availability of new updates is checked periodically. Once the update status changes, a notification might be displayed in the lower right corner of your session. A badge is also displayed over the help icon in the top bar as a reminder of the available update.

The update status is displayed as follows:

Update Status Notification Badge
Recommended update Displayed only if the access to updates is not locked.

A 3DEXPERIENCE Update available message is displayed.

Click Get Update to start the update.

Displayed only if the access to updates is not locked.

Mandatory update Displays a 3DEXPERIENCE Update required message.

If the access to updates is locked, contact your administrator to get the update.

Otherwise, click Get Update to start the update by yourself.

Important: The 3DEXPERIENCE platform is blocked until the mandatory update is performed. Only save and exit commands are available to let you save your current modifications.

Check for Updates through the Help Menu

You can check the update status on demand through a dedicated item in the Help menu.

In the top bar, click .
Menu Item Status
Scan for 3DEXPERIENCE updates... Runs the update check.
3DEXPERIENCE is up to date No new version is detected.
3DEXPERIENCE Update available A recommended update is available but the access to updates is locked.

Contact your administrator to get the update.

Get 3DEXPERIENCE Update available A recommended update is detected.

Click to start the update.

3DEXPERIENCE Update required A mandatory update is detected but the access to updates is locked.

Contact your administrator to get the update.

Get 3DEXPERIENCE Update required A mandatory update is detected.

Click to start the update.

Scan Error The update check failed.
Important: The update status is also available in the About 3DEXPERIENCE Platform dialog box.
