Selecting a Language

You can start a session in a language other than English for both native and web apps. If no language is chosen, your session will start in English.

This task shows you how to:

Change Your Language Preferences - Dashboards

The default language used is the language of your web browser.

To change your language, do either of the following:
  • If you are in the 3DEXPERIENCE platform login page, select a language at the bottom of the login section.
  • If you are already logged in, select Me > Preferences. Select the new language in the Language Preferences dialog box, and click Save.

Change Your Language Preferences - Native Apps

The language used is based on the format set in Windows.

  1. In the Windows Language dialog box, select the appropriate language in the Windows display language list.
  2. In the Related settings area, click Administrative language settings.
  3. In the Formats tab of the Region dialog box, select Match Windows display language in the Format list.

Important: This ensures that your session language and the Windows display language are the same.

Change Your Language Preferences - Web Apps

The language used for web apps is determined by the language options selected for your browser. For more information, see your browser documentation. After selecting a different language, you must logout and login in again for the language change to take effect.

Changing the browser language does not change the language used for:

  • The Collaborative Space Content Configuration tab of the Platform Manager dashboard (only available to administrators). This tab uses the language selected as explained in Change Your Language Preferences - Dashboards.
  • 3DSwym. This app manages the language selection like the dashboards.
