Opening a Native App from a Desktop Shortcut

You can open an app by double-clicking its shortcut on your desktop.


Before you begin:
  • You must have at least one app installed. You can install apps either by running a standard installation from a media or using the Compass.

  1. From the Compass, select the app and click Create Desktop Shortcut .
  2. From the desktop, double-click the app shortcut.


    Important: If you use Microsoft Edge, cookies will be shared between the browser and the native app. Therefore, if you do not clear your Microsoft Edge cache and cookies, and select Remember me, either in the native app or in Microsoft Edge, you will not be asked to provide your credentials again until you log out or your session expires. This behavior applies if you open your native app first and then open Microsoft Edge to connect to 3DEXPERIENCE platform, or if you first log in using Microsoft Edgeand open the native app from the Compass or by opening the native app from a desktop shortcut.
    Important: If you select Remember me, use this option on trusted devices only. Selecting this option keeps your session active for one week. Otherwise your session expires after two hours of inactivity.
  3. Enter your username or your email address and your password.

    If you have several collaborative spaces or roles, the Select Credentials: dialog box appears.



  4. Select a collaborative space and a role.
  5. Click OK.
