Creating a Child Change Order

You can create a change order (CO) as the child of an existing CO. You can create the child CO in either the My Changes view or in a CO that you have opened.

Required Access Roles:

  • Baseline: Contributor
  • App-specific: Any user

This task shows you how to:

Before you begin: These rules apply to creating a child CO:
  • Only a new CO can be added as a child.
  • The parent CO must be in the In Work state or earlier.
  • If the parent CO uses the fast track policy, the child must also have the fast track policy.
  • If the parent CO uses the formal policy, the child can have either policy.
  • A CO can be the child of only one parent CO.
  • You must have a Change Manager license and be assigned either a Leader Baseline role or any app-specific role.

Create a Child CO in the My Changes View

You can create and child CO in the My Changes view.

  1. In the My Changes view, select the Change Order tab.
  2. Select the CO in the list that is to be the parent.

    Note: You can select only one CO.

  3. Select Actions > Create New.
  4. In the Create Change Order pane, enter the necessary data.

Create a Child CO in an Open CO

You can open a CO and add a child CO to it.

  1. Open the CO that is to be the parent CO and select the Change Orders category.
  2. Select Actions > Create New.
  3. In the Create Change Order pane, enter the necessary data.
