Creating Private Virtual Links

You can create a private virtual link when you connect equipment of the same topology.

Note: With the Avionics Architect (AVARA) role, you can work with Ethernet networks for Avionics.

Before you begin:
  1. In the topology, right-click the Virtual Links node and select Create Virtual Link .
  2. Enter these details for the new virtual link:

    Box Name Description
    Title

    Enter a title.

    Description

    (Optional) Enter a description.
    Identifier

    Enter a value between 0 and 65535.

    Entry

    Select an ECU or a switch.

    Note: A switch appears in the Entry or Exits area only if it is part of a network.
    Exits

    Select at least one ECU or switch.

The virtual link appears in the Virtual Links node.

You can modify or visualize virtual links in the Virtual Links Table Editor.
