Creating Connector Types

You can use connector types to define the interface between two components.

  1. In the Hardware tab, right-click the Connector Types node and select Create Connector Type .
  2. Enter these details for the new connector type:

    Box Name Description
    Title

    Enter a title.

    Description

    (Optional) Enter a description.
    Subtechnology (Optional) Enter a technology name. For example, you can enter Power.
    Link technology Select a protocol between standard protocols and other protocols. For more information, see About Communication Protocol Standards.

    Additional protocols are suggested if they are created in the Preferences dialog box. For more information, see Creating Protocols.

A connector type is created and appears under the Connector Types node.

You can now manage EE components and associate connector types to their ports.
