Creating Hardware Ports

You can create ports to connect the topology and the EE components.

This scenario describes how to create ports for a topology. The scenario is identical for EE components.

Creating Connector Types
  1. Right-click the Ports node of the topology or the EE component node and select Create Port .
  2. Enter these details for the new port:

    Box Name Description
    Title

    Enter a title.

    Description

    (Optional) Enter a description.

    Type To associate a connector type with the port, click [...].

    In the Choose Connector Type dialog box, select a connector type among connector types in session and validate.

    (Optional) Direction

    If the connector type is WiredLink, select a direction: Out, In, InOut, or None.

    If the connector type is ARINC 429, select a direction: In or Out.

    Note: With the Avionics Architect (AVARA) role, you can create an ARINC 429 connector.

Depending on the hardware object, the port is added and appears under the Ports node of the topology and under the EE component node.

You can now create a connection.
