Creating a Junction Point

You can create a junction point on a 3D part with electrical properties, and use it as a connection point to route a branch.

The junction point is a type of connection point allowing you to connect the segments of the branches routed to adjacent zones.

Before you begin:
  • Create a 3D part.
  • Add an electrical behavior to a 3D part using the Electrical Behavior command.

    The command is available in the Device section of the action bar.

  • Open Electrical 3D Part Design.

About Working with Junction Points
  1. From the Device section of the action bar, click Junction Point .
    The Junction Point Definition dialog box appears.
  2. Place the junction point on the 3D part:
    1. Select the Standard tab.
    2. Click the icon.
      The Axis System Definition dialog box appears.

      If there is an existing representation, a right-handed axis system is positioned by default.

    3. Optional: Define an origin, and then the X, Y, and Z axes.

    4. Click OK.
    In the Junction Point Definition dialog box, the name of the axis system is displayed in the Axis System box.
  3. Click OK to create the junction point.
    The junction point appears in the tree, under the Electrical node of the 3D part.
