Replacing an Electrical Device

You can reconcile external and 3D data when a device part number has been modified.

Before you begin: External system devices and 3D devices have already been Placing Electrical Devices from External Systems.

  1. Select Selecting External Systems containing electrical specifications.
  2. From the Import / Export section of the action bar, click Manage Links .

    The Device List appears.

    The system compares the external device list and corresponding linked devices in the work area to determine whether or not device part numbers have been changed.

    Devices whose part numbers are different are listed as Changed.

  3. Select a device that has changed.
    The Replace button is activated.
    Tip: You can filter the device list to display only those devices identified as changed by selecting Show only changed devices.
  4. Click Replace.

    The Select Device dialog box appears, ready to launch a query on the device part number.

  5. Search for the corresponding device.
  6. Select the device and click OK.
    The old device is replaced with the new one synchronizing the external device list and the devices in session.

    The device list is updated: the device is now identified as linked.

    Note: You need to manually rebuild the electrical and mechanical links.

  7. Click Close when you are done.
