About the Copy/Cut-and-paste Capability Across Electrical Physical Systems

When you move conductors and conductor groups from one electrical physical system to another, the route information of the conductors are kept during the copy/cut-and-paste manipulation. Therefore, you don't have to define the route of your conductors again after moving them.

Pasting Methods

Several methods are available to move conductors and conductor groups from one electrical physical system to another.

In the tree, you can select one or several elements, and then:

Copy or Cut your selection and paste it to the target node.
Note: You can either use the keyboard or the context menu.
Drag and drop your selection to the target node.

Pasting Behavior

You can paste conductors and conductor groups whether the elements are displayed in the tree according to their route status or their resolution status.

Important: If you work with electrical physical systems linked with electrical geometries, you cannot move elements from one electrical physical system to another if they are not linked with the same electrical geometry.

Conductors Organized According to their Route Status

For elements displayed according to their route status, you can move conductors and conductor groups:

From the source Specs Fully Routed node to the target Specs Fully Routed node
From the source Specs Partially Routed node to the target Specs Partially Routed node
From the source Specs Not Routed node to the target Specs Not Routed node
From any source node to the representation node of the target electrical physical system (EPS)

Important: When you paste a conductor fully resolved, its mapped instance is pasted under the representation node of the target EPS, except if you paste the conductor in a conductor group. In this case, the mapped instance is not pasted.

Recommendations

Before moving conductors and conductor groups, the source electrical physical system needs to be updated.

When you select elements belonging to different nodes, it is recommended to paste them in the representation node of the target electrical physical system. If you do so, the appropriate nodes are created.

In the following example, TestC_1 belongs to the Specs Partially Routed node under EPS_3. When the conductor is moved to EPS_4, a Specs Partially Routed node is created in the target electrical physical system:
