About Mapping Conductors

This page discusses what mapping conductors involves and explains the resolution status terms used in the interface.

Instantiating and Linking Conductors

To enable configured electrical physical systems in the database, conductor references must be instantiated from the database into the electrical physical system and mapped to conductor specifications in the technological package. For more information about creating conductor references, see Inserting Conductors.

Conductor specifications are listed in a technological package located under the appropriate electrical physical system in the tree. They can be inserted or imported. Conductors that have not been mapped to instances from the database are identified as not resolved in the tree.

The Map Conductors command lets you:

  • Instantiate conductor references from either the database or catalog into a electrical physical system
  • Link or unlink conductors with instances
  • List existing conductors and display linked instances of the reference
  • Automatically instantiate and link instances from an electrical conductor references.

The following gives more information about the resolution status of conductors and their corresponding icon in the tree.

  • Specifications Fully Resolved : Conductor specifications exist and associated conductors have been instantiated; conductors are present in the session and linked to the instance loaded in session.
  • Specifications Not Resolved : Only conductor specifications exist; conductors have not been instantiated.
  • Specifications Resolved Not Loaded : Conductor specifications exist and associated conductors have been instantiated, but these instances are not loaded in session.
