Applying Tangency

To edit a branch curve, you can apply a tangency to a device or to a passing point.

Important: When working with a branch built in Cornered Polyline, the Tangency Mode is not available.

This task shows you how to:

Before you begin:
  • Activate an electrical branch geometry, and then select a branch in the work area.
  • From the Branch section of the action bar, click Immersive Branch Definition .

    The Auto Routing Mode is activated and yellow bullets appear on route elements.

Add Tangency

The Tangency Mode allows you to add tangency to devices and passing points.

Note: The following scenario describes how to add a tangency to a device. The scenario is identical for passing points.

  1. In the 3D area, click a yellow bullet to select a device.
    The Manual Routing Mode context toolbar appears along with the Robot that is automatically snapped onto the selected element.

  2. Pause over Manual Routing Mode , and then select Tangency Move .
  3. In the 3D area, click a line.

    Note: You can also select the edge of a device or of a support.



    Tangency is applied to the device. In the 3D area, the branch curve is updated according to the direction of the selected line.

  4. To cancel your manipulations, press Escape or close the Branch Properties panel.
  5. To validate your manipulations, click in the 3D area or press Enter.

Edit Tangency

You can reverse or remove the tangency applied to devices or to passing points.

Note: The following scenario describes how to edit a device tangency. The scenario is identical for passing points.

Before you begin: Add tangency to a device.
  1. In the 3D area, click a yellow bullet to select a device.
    The Manual Routing Mode context toolbar appears along with the Robot that is automatically snapped onto the selected element.
  2. Pause over Manual Routing Mode , and then select Tangency Move .
    A context toolbar appears.

  3. To modify the direction of the tangent, select Reverse Tangent .
    The branch curve is updated accordingly.

  4. To restore the initial branch curve, select Remove Tangent .
    There is no more tangency applied to the device.

  5. To cancel your manipulations, press Escape or close the Branch Properties panel.
  6. To validate your manipulations, click in the 3D area or press Enter.
