- From the Formboard section of the action bar, click Harness Flattening Parameters
, and define the parameters as follows: - In the General tab, choose an Active plane.
- In the Flattening Orientation
tab, select the Torsion free harness parameter.
For more information, see Defining Harness Flattening Parameters. -
From the Formboard section of the action bar, click Extract
to duplicate the 3D harness content.
The Extract Report panel appears and the harness is extracted. -
To flatten the extracted content, from the Formboard section of the action bar, click Generate Layout
, and then select either of the following:
- An electrical geometry or an electrical physical system
- A branch or a device
The whole network is highlighted and the Generate Layout dialog box appears. -
Under Angle Mode, select Standard and then click OK.
Note:
By default, this mode is selected.
The layout is generated: - The main device of the harness is flattened according to the flattening parameters defined.
Note:
For more information about how the main device is identified and oriented when the Torsion free harness parameter is selected, see Device Orientation.
- The branch connected to the main device is flattened straight.
- The rest of the geometry is positioned so as to nullify torsion.
 - Optional:
Click Analyze Torsion
, and then select the flattened geometry.
The content is torsion-free.
