Selecting the Objects to Analyze Using the Logical to Physical Assistant

You can start the Logical to Physical Assistant to determine which objects you want to analyze.

The analysis returns the objects that you can analyze according to the L2P_ValidateCandidateForAnalysis business rule. For more information, see Validate/Filter Candidate Elements for Analysis (L2P_ValidateCandidatesForAnalysis).


Before you begin:
  • Open a product containing the physical data that you want to update or synchronize.
  • If you also have access to Electrical 3D Design app, in the context of cabling diagrams, select either Conductor Group or Cable in Me > Preferences> All Preferences > 3D Modeling > Electrical and Electronic Systems > Electrical 3D Design > Logical To Physical, because you cannot analyze both objects at the same time. For more information, see Logical to Physical Assistant.
  1. From the standard area of the action bar, click Logical Assistant .
  2. In the tree, select the systems containing the objects that you want to analyze.
  3. Under Types to analyze in the Preferences section, select one or more types of objects that you want to analyze.
  4. Under Search, select the source for the physical objects:

    Search in database

    Searches the physical objects in the database.

    Search in catalog
    • Catalog in Data Setup: searches the physical objects using the catalog for physical object references in the Data Setup.
    • User defined catalog: lets you manually select a catalog to search the physical objects. Click and select the catalog of your choice.
    Search in Library
    • Library in Data Setup: searches the physical objects using the library for physical object references in the Data Setup.
    • User defined library: lets you manually select a library to search the physical object. Click and select the library of your choice.
  5. Click Analyze .

The Logical to Physical Assistant panel displays the results of the analysis through symbols.
