About ELOG Model Import/Export in Electrical Systems Design

An ELOG file represents a logical reference (system) in Electrical Systems Design. The file name is the reference name of the system. During the import process, if the system does not exist, a new one is created.

If the position (of components, ports) and dimensions (of components) are defined in the XML file, they will be taken into account during the import process. Conductors' position is computed according to the components' and ports' position.

The position (of components and ports) and dimensions (of components) are generated in the XML file during the export process.

Important:

Before launching the Import command, you have to insure that your ELOG files are valid to the ELOG schema.
Sub-systems do not exist in ELOG file and objects are always aggregated under a root node.
The XML identifier "id" must be valuated but "@", "&" and blank character are forbidden characters. The first letter of the name should not have a numerical value, i.e. "ID_1" is accepted but "1_ID" is not.

This table contains the objects exchanged between ELOG and Electrical Systems Design models.

Objects are created in the system from the existing electrical references. If no electrical reference is found, a new one is created.

The Assembly_part attribute points to a part reference object in which the part number attribute is used to define the reference name and the predefined part number if it is a new reference.
An ELOG component can have another ELOG component as parent. This link is ignored. Therefore, it will be considered as a normal ELOG component.

Schematic_component_pin_external/Pin

Only one Wiring_component_pin is supported (import process).

A Wiring_connector_pin can point to terminal specifications. If all Wiring_connector_pins have a Splice as terminal type, the harness connector is considered as a splice.

The Assembly_part attribute points to a part reference object in which the part number attribute is used to define the reference name and the predefined part number if it is a new reference. A part reference of a Schematic_connection must be used once.
The net ends must be connected to at least two electrical pins of an equipment or a connector component during the export process otherwise it will be ignored. Moreover, these two electrical pins must also be connected through wires.

It is recommended to create harness links between Harness objects and harness connectors or splices during the export process. An implicit link between the harness and the wires or cables exists if their ends are connected to the harness content. For more information, see Managing Harness Content.
