Creating Harness Links

You can define a harness content to manipulate its composition and manage links between the harness and wires or cables. You can create or remove links between a harness and the following elements:

  • Harness connectors
  • Splices
  • Connector ports of disconnect
  • Terminal blocks
  • Wires
  • Cables
  • Shell connector Ports

The harness and the component to be linked can be at different levels within the same system.

This task shows you how to:

Before you begin:
  • Create a logical reference (Logical Harnesses Network).
  • Create two harness components (Logical Harness 1 and Logical Harness 2). For more information, see Creating and Placing an Electrical Harness.
  • Create electrical components: harness connectors (SIC1 and SIC2), a splice (Splice1) and a disconnect (IC1). For more information, see Creating an Electrical Component Reference.
  • Create six wires (Wire1, ... and Wire6).
  • Connect the wires' ends to the harness connectors' pins:
    • W1 and W2 connected between SIC1 and Splice1
    • W3 and W4 connected between Splice1 and IC1
    • W5 and W6 connected between IC1 and SIC2
