- Activate the diagram view.

From the Edition section of the action bar, click Create New Reference .

In the tree or in the diagram view, select the logical reference.
The
New Content
dialog box appears. - Expand the Electrical Logical tab and
right-click Logical Shell Connector.

Optional: Select the
Set attributes at creation option.
Note:
This option remains selected when creating the same type
of component.

Click Logical Shell Connector.

In the Logical Shell Connector tab,
type a name.
- Optional: To create the content of the electrical component, select the Content tab and complete the following boxes:
- Select the type of pin to be created in the Type list.
- Select the number of pins to be created in the Number box.
- Optional: Type a prefix for the pins' names in the Prefix box.
Note:
You can define forbidden characters through the Pin Name Forbidden Characters resource of the Data Setup to forbid the use of certain characters. If the name of the pin contains forbidden characters, you cannot validate your creation. When creating several pins, the forbidden characters are skipped.
- Type the name of the pins in the First Name box.
Note:
If there is more than one pin, their names follow the alphabetical/numerical order according to the name of the first pin.
- Optional: Type a suffix for the pins' names in the Suffix box.
- Click Add.
The pins appear in the Pins To Be Created area. Note:
To remove pins, select them in the Pins To Be Created area and click Remove.
- Click OK.
A shell connector is created under the logical reference. Under the Extensions node, note that a connector node is created to store all the connectors. In our example, it aggregates a connector node containing the shell connector. The component can be placed in a diagram view. For more information, see Placing Components.
