Entering Data in Technological Tables

You can assign values and data to cells. Depending on the cell type, you can enter data freely or assign database objects.

Linking a column to a technological table is another way of completing a column. For more information, see Linking Technological Tables.

Before you begin: Open or create a technological table containing a number of rows and columns.

About Technological Tables
  1. Double-click the cell of interest.
You can now edit the value.
  2. Depending on the column characteristics (type and link) of the cell, you can:
    • Fill it in freely with the new value. The app lets you enter values that are related to the column type. For example, if you are working in a Length column, only length values are accepted: entering the name of a material is forbidden by the application.
    • Choose a PLM object such as a material. The objects found in the session are automatically listed. You can also search to find the proper object.
    • Choose a value from the list that appears. Lists appear whenever the column is linked to another technological table. These values are those belonging to the linked table.
Tip: You can right-click the cell and clear the check box Use Referenced Table to enter any value of your choice. A symbol appears in the upper corner of the cell to indicate that the value is out of check and automatic valuation.
    • Choose a combination of values in the displayed table. Combinations appear whenever different columns are linked to other columns belonging to the same target table. This changes the value of the current column but also the value (for this row) of the other columns linked to the same table.
  3. Optional: Right-click the cell and select Unset in the context menu to define the cell as <unset>.
For more information, see Unset Value.

The value is displayed in the cell.
