IP Controlled Access

The IP Controlled Access app provides access restriction capabilities that focus on the needs of companies that must protect selected data from unauthorized export to foreign nationals or locations and unauthorized sharing with individuals or organizations. Both requirements are slightly different forms of the general need to apply and enforce special security rules to selected items managed in the PLM environment. The product addresses requirements for the management of Multinational Export Control, Intellectual Properties, and items classified in accordance with National Industrial Security requirements.

Intellectual Property (IP) protected data may be exported by making hard copy printouts, performing screen captures, or when used with other products that might be used to capture thumbnail representations of the data. It is the user’s responsibility to safeguard the IP Protected data and determine if the export, when distributed and used outside of the IP Protection application, constitutes a violation of the IP protection.

Important: If an organization or platform is using IP Protection and Export Control functionality, the IPA license is required for all users on the tenant.
