Exporting Content through Exchange Space Process

You can export content using the Exchange Space process. This process enables the suppliers to use Project Space and Team Workspace as containers for managing export exchange from the native app. Any file stored inside an exchange space using the Export command is an archive. The Export command is touch compliant in Windows 8.

Before you begin:
  • Create a project space structure or team workspace structure in the web app.
  1. In the Share menu, select Export to export the product structure of your choice.
    The Export dialog box appears.
  2. In the Target list, select Exchange Space.
A warning message appears if there is no project space or team workspace available and the Target is automatically switched back to the previous one.
Tip: You can only export content using the Exchange Space, if you are the member.

By default, the Location box is automatically filled in with the last used project space or team workspace name if it is still available. If the last used project space or team workspace is not valid the Location box displays the following message: No Exchange Space selected, provided that multiple project spaces or team workspaces are available on the server.

If there is a single exchange space that is owned by you, then the available exchange space is listed in the Location box. However, if multiple exchange spaces are available on the server and they are not owned by you but you have the access permission, then the Location box displays the following message: No Exchange Space selected.

If you select the file format as PDF while exporting a drawing, then the drawing is exported as a PDF file.

  3. In the Browse section that has just appeared, search for your project space or team workspace.
  4. In the Name box, enter or modify the name of the file.
By default, the name of the selected file is automatically computed.
  5. Modify the other fields as explained in Exporting Content and check the options specific to each format.
  6. Click OK to finish the export.
