Using the 3D Preview Command

You can preview the STEP file you want to import.

Before you begin: Open the Import dialog box and choose STEP in the Format list.

Importing Data from STEP
  1. Once you have chosen your STEP file to be imported, click 3D Preview in the Import dialog box.
    The Import Preview app opens, showing a preview of your STEP file to be imported;.
  2. Use the View and Tools commands in their respective sections of the action bar as usual.
  3. Click Validate Import in the Import Preview section of the action bar if you are okay with the preview.
  4. Click Cancel Preview in the Import Preview section of the action bar if you want to come back to the Import dialog box and choose another file.
