In the Add
menu, select Import .
The Import dialog box appears.
Note:
- It is impossible to access exchange space using drag and drop operation.
- You can also first select a document in the tree and click . The fields are then filled automatically. It must be a .zip archive folder containing one or several STEP, IGES files for example.
- The Import command is touch compliant in Windows 8.
If you want to import a file that has been stored inside an Exchange Space, you must first ensure that the file has been stored as a zip archive inside the document of the Exchange Space and that you have valuated the description field of the document with the tag “Type=” followed by the extension of the file. Example: “Type=stp” for a file with the stp extension or “Type=*.ifc” For the Exchange Space integration, there is a technical constraint imposed to the file stored inside the document of the Exchange Space. The description field must be filled with at least the type of the file to import. Otherwise, the file is not displayed in the Import dialog box. The reason is that we want to avoid performance issues while retrieving all the files to import from the chosen Exchange Space.
-
In the Source list, select Exchange Space.
A warning message appears
in the top right corner of the screen if no project space or team workspace is available.
- In the Location box, the last project space or team workspace appears, if it is still available. Or click [...] button to search for another project space or team workspace.
By default, the Location box is automatically filled in with the last used project space or team workspace name. If the last used project space or team workspace is not valid or if there are no exchange spaces, a warning message appears and the mode of selection is reset to its default value.
If there are multiple exchange spaces for which you are the owner, then the Location box is filled in with the first available and connected project space or team workspace. However, if these exchange spaces are not owned by you then the Location box is empty. - Search for the project space or team workspace of your choice, select it and click OK.
The Location box is replaced with the required path for the selected project space or team workspace.
- Select the file you want to import from the list.
The list contains all files present in the documents available under the Outbox folder of the selected project space or team workspace. The list shows only the files that have been correctly stored in the Exchange Space by valuating the correct information in the document. Otherwise, the list is empty even if the selection of the Exchange Space is correct. Note:
The icon before the file, its creation date and size are not listed in the box when using the Exchange Space process.
- Modify the other fields as explained inImporting Content and check the options specific to each format.
- Click OK to finish the import.
The Import Progression dialog box displaying the
percentage of completion appears.
A message appears in the top right corner of the screen indicating that the command is successful.
