Adding Document Classifications

Services Management can define document classifications for either services specifications or services documents.

You must have a Customization Administrator license and the Administrator access role to perform this task.

Use the Specialize Data Model category in the Data Model Customization app to define a new package and extension. For more information, see Installation and Setup: Customize: Data Model: 3DSpace Unified Typing: Data Model Customization: Specialize Data Model. When using the Specialize Data Model tool, follow these guidelines:

  1. To create document classifications for services specifications:
    1. Create a new package using FinancialServices as the parent package.
    2. Click the Extensions tab for the new package.
    3. Select FINANCIAL SPECIFICATIONS in the list, and create a new extension. The Name you define here shows for users in the Document Classification list when creating or editing a services specification. Define as many classifications as your organization needs.
  2. To create document classifications for services documents:
    1. Create a new package using FinancialServices as the parent package.
    2. Click the Extensions tab for the new package.
    3. Select FINANCIAL DOCUMENTS in the list, and create a new extension. The Name you define here shows for users in the Document Classification list when creating or editing a services document. Define as many classifications as your organization needs.
  3. In the navigation pane, click Specialize Data Model, select the new packages, and click Deploy Package.
  4. In the navigation pane, click Manage NLS. Locate the new packages and expand them to view the extensions. Edit the page to add labels for each language instance, and save your edits.

You do not have to reload the cache. The document classifications are available immediately.
