Once the design and structure of your flexible circuit board are finalized, you can create additional bend states to supplement the Fold/Unfold command.
A multistate structure enables to define and visualize the various steps of the folding of your flexible board. Whether it is for positioning or installation purposes, you can use Multistate to check and validate the manufacturing of the flexible parts of your product.
Example of a Multistate Structure.
A: The PartBody node contains the definition of the sheet metal board. It is hidden to enable the display of the intermediate states.
B: Clicking the Multistate feature displays the States Manager panel.
C: Axis Systems Group includes all the axis systems of the components placed on the flexible board.
D: The Body.1 node contains the copy of the sheet metal solid. Moreover, each time you create a state, a feature appears in the node to enable the visualization and edition of the state.
E: Once a state is finalized, a 3D shape representation is created. The representations for the folded and unfolded states appear by default.
Important:
The 3D shape representations appear in the tree following the finalization order of the states and not the folding order.
F: Each 3D shape representation contains a copy of the solid body corresponding to the bend state.
Multistate Management
Two panels allow you to view, edit, and finalize the intermediate bend states of your flexible circuit board.
States Manager
The States Manager panel enables to easily select the states you want to manage.
Commands
Actions
and
Enable to navigate the various states of the flexible board and select one of them.
Displays the State Edition panel to modify the selected state.
Displays the constraint areas of the flexible board on the selected state.
Notes:
Closing the States Manager panel hides the constraint areas.
If you modify a constraint area after finalizing a state, you have to finalize the state again to update its 3D representation.
Finalizes the selected state and creates or updates its 3D representation in the tree.
This representation enables to manage the various states of your board structure in the Process Planningapp.
Cancels the finalization of the selected state and removes its 3D representation from the tree.
Deletes the selected state and its 3D representation.
State Edition
The State Edition panel enables to modify a state by setting various parameters.
Areas
Available Information
State Information
Displays the status of the selected state:
InWork: the state is not finalized
Frozen: the state is finalized
Angle Edition
Allows to select the board face.
A button enables to choose the unit for the angle edition:
Degree
Radian
Preview Parameters
Allows to select the state to be previewed in the 3D area.
You can choose the color of the preview as well as its type:
Edge
Face
Body
Ruler Parameters
Enables to show or hide the angle manipulator during the edition.
Other Parameters
Enables to show or hide the components positioned on the board during the edition.
