App Options Panel

The App Options panel of 3D Simulation provides commands that control aspects of 3D Simulation and that lay out objects.

To access the App Options panel, from the Tools section of the action bar, select App Options .

This page discusses:

Assembly Evaluation

Hide All Fasteners
Hides all fasteners in the 3D and tree.
Hidden objects are ignored for clash detection, distance computation, and trap selection, allowing you to work efficiently with the following commands: Track Analysis Assistant, Minimum Distance Probe, Track Plot, Manage Collections for Track, Dynamic Clash, and Path Planning.
This behavior is not persistent and fasteners will be shown each time you load the data.

By default, fasteners are shown.

Show All Fasteners
Shows all fasteners in the 3D and tree.
When the Hide All Fasteners option is on, selecting Show All Fasteners overrides the previous fasteners visibility status.

By default, fasteners are shown.

3D Simulation

Exit 3D Simulation
Enables you to leave 3D Simulation while staying in your app.
For more information, see Activate and Exit 3D Simulation.
Select Resource/Product
  • If on, you select the full object when you select 3D content. That is, if you click a robot's base, you select the entire robot. This is the most common way to select resources.
  • If off, you select the object on which you click when you select 3D content. Clicking a robot's base you select only the base. This is the most common way to select products.
For more information, see Activate and Exit 3D Simulation.
Change Active Simulation Object
Changes the active simulation object (ASO) from one object to another.
For more information, see Selecting the Active Simulation Object.
Enable/Disable Selection Assistant
  • If on, an assistant appears that allows you navigate up the product hierarchy when you select 3D content. Clicking on a face of a part, you can use a slider to select the part itself, a subassembly, an assembly, or the entire product.
  • If off, select 3D content without the assistant.

By default, Enable Selection is the mode.

For more information, see Change Your ASO with Selection Assistant.
Configure Panels
Opens a dialog box so you can select which 3D Simulation panels appear.
For more information, see 3D Simulation Panel Features and Configure Panels Dialog Box.
Refresh Panels
Makes modifications to panels, depending on changes you have previously selected.
For more information, see Update the Panel Content.
Hide/Show Panels
  • If on, displays 3D Simulation panels (or the miniaturized icons representing the panels).
  • If off, all panels are hidden.

By default, the 3D Simulation panels are on display.

For more information, see 3D Simulation Panel Features.

Object Manipulation

Object Manipulation Settings
Sets the step size for the snap modes.
For more information, see Object Manipulation Settings.
Snaps to Steps off the Last Position
Moves the object the distance you determine, from the last position (defined as 0). The distance the object has moved from the last position is shown in the label.
For more information, see Move an Object Precisely in Snap Mode.
Snaps to Steps off the Current Axis
Moves the object the distance you determine, from the current axis (also called the local origin of the world). The distance the object has moved from the last position is shown in the label.
For more information, see Move an Object Precisely in Snap Mode.
Toggle Manipulation Handle Mode
  • If on, active elements are surrounded by a bounding box manipulation handle that can be used to move the active element.
  • If off, the manipulation handle is not available.

By default, the manipulation handle is available.

For more information, see Move Objects with the Manipulation Handle.

Interferences

See Social and Collaborative: 3D Product Intelligence: Interference Check: App Options Panel.

Select

Select
Select and the other options in its flyout are used to select objects in the tree or the 3D area.

By default, Select is the proposed option.

For more information, see 3DEXPERIENCE Platform : Native Apps Common Services: User Interface: App Options Panel.

Filter Variants

Filter Variants
Lets you combine and store filters commonly used for patches, faces, and edges.
For more information, see 3DEXPERIENCE Native Apps: Native Apps Common Services: Selecting.
