Reversing Tracks of an Operation or a System

In a Production System context, you can reverse the direction of each track and reverse the sequence order of tracks under each operation and system.

If precedence constraints exist between the tracks of an operation, these can also be reversed.

This capability applies to fitting tracks (that is, a trajectory along which an object or a set of objects can be moved). It does not apply to kinematic tracks (that is, a trajectory along which a kinematic mechanism defined between objects can be moved).

Before you begin: Load your Production System data in the 3D Simulation environment.

Reverse the Direction of a Track
  1. From the Simulation section of the action bar, click Show Gantt Chart .
    The System-Operation-Track Gantt chart appears.

  2. Right-click the operation LoadingOperation.70 in the Gantt chart and select Reverse Tracks.
The sequence of all the tracks under the selected operation is reversed: the begin time and end time of each of the tracks are changed to appropriate values so that a reverse order of the tracks is possible. The direction of each of the tracks is also reversed.

  3. Expand the subsystem GeneralSystem.42 in the Gantt chart.

  4. Right-click the subsystem GeneralSystem.42 in the Gantt chart and select Reverse Tracks.
The sequence of the operations in the subsystem is not altered. The sequence of the tracks under each of the operations is reversed. The direction of each of the tracks is reversed.

    Notes:
    • The Reverse Tracks contextual command is available on an operation or system in the System-Operation-Track Gantt chart. It is also available on an operation or system in the tree, and on the operation thumbnail.
    • When precedence constraints exist between tracks of an operation, reversing the operation also reverses the precedence constraints accordingly.
