Assigning Evolution Effectivity

You can assign evolution effectivity to a logical or function instance.

Before you begin:
  • Ensure that a context is attached to the logical or function root.
  • Under the root, a logical or function component is created.
  1. Right-click the logical or functional instance and select Edit Evolution Effectivity of Instance.
The Edit Evolution Effectivity dialog box appears. It shows a list of models, details of the models, and the evolution effectivity expression for each model.
  2. Select the required evolution effectivity.

Note: The tooltip content for the logical or function instances can be customized to display the name of the assigned evolution effectivity. In Me > Preferences > App Preferences > 3D Modeling > Systems Architecture > Functional & Logical Design > Tooltip , assign the Effectivity attribute for logical or function object. For more information, see Customizing Tooltips. The variant and evolution decoupling is applied in the tooltip of functional and logical components when the effectivity attribute is selected in the Tooltip tab.
