Deleting Objects in Functional & Logical Design

You can remove objects, ports, flow associations and connections from the tree.

Deleting Functional and Logical References from the Database
  1. In the tree or 2D graph, right-click a function or logical component.

    Important:
    • You can multiselect objects when using the Delete functionality.
    • Root entities are permanent part of the tree structure and cannot be deleted.
    • The Requirement category of the RFLP structure tree is read-only. No modification or deletion can be made in this category.

  2. Select Delete.

    Important: The Delete functionality is not available if you select a root entity in the tree.

    The selected function or logical component is removed from the RFLP structure.

    The relations impacted by the component deletion are automatically managed:

    • The deletion of the functional and logical connections linked to the deleted/cut entity
    • The deletion of the Implement relations linked to the deleted entity if the deleted/cut object is the implementing part of the relation
    • No action for Implement relations linked to the deleted entity if the deleted/cut object is the implemented part of the relation.

    Note: The instance of an object (i.e. function or logical component) is removed from the RFLP structure only. The object itself (reference) is not removed from the database.
