Inserting a New Reference

To create or develop a model, you can insert a new reference in the Functional, Logical or Physical category of the tree.

Important: This command can be used on a functional/logical port and on a flow/type. This command cannot be used neither on an implement relation nor on a functional/logical connection.

Inserting an Existing Reference
  1. In the tree or 2D graph, right-click an object and select the convenient command. The name of the command is different depending on the selected object:

    Tip: From the Edition section of the action bar, you can also click Create New Reference .

    • Insert New Function
    • Insert New Logical Component
    • Insert New Product
    • Insert New Flow
    • Insert New System Type.

    Tip: In the tree, you can also select a category node (Functional, Logical, Physical) to initiate a root model.

  2. In the New Content dialog box, select the convenient object.

    Important: For more about the New content dialog box, see 3DEXPERIENCE Platform: Creating New Objects.

    For the purpose of this scenario, the Set attributes at creation option must be selected.
