Using a Grid

In the work area, you can easily position your objects using a grid.

  1. From the View section of the action bar, click Display/Hide Grid .
    The grid is displayed.

  2. Drag and drop your element anywhere in the 2D graph.
The element doesn't snap to the grid.

  3. From the View section of the action bar, click Grid Snapping .

Tip: To temporarily activate or deactivate this mode, press Alt from your keyboard.

  4. Drag and drop your element anywhere in the work area.
The element automatically snaps to the grid, from its lower left corner or from a predefined snap point.
Important: If you create an object with the grid snapping mode, its lower left corner is snapped to the grid.

Tip: You can customize horizontal/vertical spacing and graduation, as the snapping option, from Me > Preferences > App Preferences > 3D Modeling > Systems Architecture > Functional & Logical Design > 2D Graph F/L.
