Visualizing the Content of the User Feature Instance Internals Using the White Box Mode

You can select the White Box mode when creating a user feature. At instantiation, the content of the user feature will be made visible.


Before you begin:
  • You must have created a user feature.
  • To access the models used in this topic, import the Bounding_Box_Reference_000.3dxml and the Bounding_Box_Destination_000.3dxml files located in win_b64\startup\Knowledgeware\3D Templates Samples\Sample1.

  1. Expand the KnowledgeTemplates node and double-click the user feature, Bounding Sphere in our example.
    The User Feature Definition dialog box appears.
  2. Click the Properties tab and select White Box in the Mode combo box.
  3. Click OK when done.
  4. Save and keep open.
  5. Open the destination product and tile vertically.
  6. Click Instantiation from Selection and select the user feature in the reference product.
    A dialog box appears informing you that you are about to instantiate a user feature in White Box mode.
  7. Click OK and select the inputs, Surface.1 in our example.
    The user feature is instantiated and its internals are displayed in the tree.
