About Pushing Bodies

Push uses bodies as tools to deform the shell by pushing into it. If needed, the capability lets you add clearances to some faces.

You can use this command to take into account the space occupied by another 3D shape in the same mechanism, in the designed 3D shape

Constant Wall Thickness

The Constant wall thickness check box allows you to obtain the final required shape with less fillets, giving them a part that is more stable through modifications and also faster to build.

The below images show the cross section through the two push features. The push on the right is obtained by selecting the Constant wall thickness check box.

Extend Across Removed Faces

The Extend across removed faces check box causes the feature not to be confined within the wall of the deleted face of the shelled volume.

In the below images, the feature on the right is obtained by selecting the Extend across removed faces check box.

Extend across removed faces does not work if the shape of the internal surface is not completely trimmed by the external surface. In the following instance, the feature extends completely outside the shell and therefore has not been trimmed.

Protected Volume

Clear the Protected volume check box to add material inside the cavity (unprotected area) created by the push feature.

By default, this option is selected.
