Creating Face-Face Fillets as Local Modifiers

You can create a face-face fillet when there is no intersection between the faces or when there are more than two sharp edges between the faces.

  1. From the Refine section of the action bar, click Face-Face Fillet, Local Modifier .
    The FaceFillet.x dialog box appears. The default options let you define a smooth extremity.
    Important: Two face-face fillet capabilities are available in Functional Plastic Parts:
    • Face-Face Fillet, Local Modifier lets you add face-face fillets on features intrinsically. Because of its robustness it can be used more often. You can also add face-face fillets as feature modifiers.
    • Part Design Face-Face Fillet lets you add face-face fillets on functional solids. It is recommended to use it once the 3D shape is almost complete.
  2. Select the faces to be filleted.


  3. If you select the two faces, a warning message appears. Click Yes to continue.
  4. In the Radius box, specify the radius value and click OK.

    The fillet is automatically propagated to the internal walls of the shell.
