You can add material of a constant thickness and offset (from
the walls) to the perimeter of divided bodies to improve the mating conditions.
The flange is a multi-body feature that requires at least one divided half
body.
This task shows you how to create a Flange.
Note:
Depending on your role, you
may not have access to this functionality.
From the
Manufacture section of the
action bar,
click
Flange.
The
Flange dialog box appears.
Enter values for
Width and
Thickness.
Enter values for the
Top radius and the
Bottom radius.
Click
Preview.
The flange is previewed with the given values.
Click
OK.
Important:
It is necessary for the divide surface to
extend beyond the external skin of the
body because the geometry of the flange is
controlled by the divide surface.
Select
Shellable Prism.x from the
tree
to modify the shellable prism.
Select the
Fillet tab and enter a value for
Lateral radius.
Click
OK. The flange has added the lateral fillet.
