Propagating Failure Modes

You can propagate failure modes, which are not linked to architecture elements. For that purpose, you can use a correlation table, which can be used to define propagation rules between failure modes.

For example, this propagation is interesting for the testability analysis, where failure modes correspond to symptoms.

Before you begin: Define a correlation table containing failure modes and based on a template for the correlation table. For an example of templates, see Correlation Table Template.

Working with Testability Analysis
  1. In the current FMEA table, select a cell corresponding to a failure mode.
A list of failure modes appears.
  2. Select a failure mode.
The failure mode is displayed in a tile of the cell. If the correlation table contains some failure modes associated with the selected failure mode, the set of failure modes also appears in the tile.
