Customizing Preferences

You can customize preferences for Failure Modes & Effects Analysis.

  1. From the widget menu, select > Preferences .
  2. Select the preferences to be customized.

    Preferences Description
    Credentials Select the credentials to be used to perform the analyses.
    Confirm failure mode creation Select this check box to use dialog boxes for failure mode creation. Otherwise, failure modes are directly created and named with the name entered in the Default failure mode name field.

    By default, this check box is selected.

    Show line number Select this check box to display causality relationships numbers at the right of the table. Otherwise, it hides numbers.

    By default, this check box is selected.

    Use edit mode only Select this check box to activate only the edit mode in the app.

    If this option is cleared, the read-only mode is activated if you clear the Edit Mode.

    By default, this check box is cleared.

    Enable autosave Select this check box to enable the automatic save of files.

    To prevent the files from being saved automatically, clear this option. Manually save all the changes of objects.

    By default, this check box is selected.

    Default failure mode name Enter a name to be used for a failure mode creation.
    Default fallible reference name Enter a name to be used for a fallible reference creation.
    Default functional instance type Enter the name of a customized type created to replace the default functional type.
    Default logical instance type Enter the name of a customized type created to replace the default logical type.
    Automatic revising of analysis Select
    • Disabled: The behavior of creation and loading the latest model with that latest FMEA is deactivated.
    • Semi automated: The revision of the analyzed model is compared to the latest revision. You can accept the creation of the FMEA or the loading of the latest model.
    • Fully automated: The revision of the analyzed model is compared to the latest revision. If required, a revision of the FMEA is created and the latest model is loaded.
    Revising based on If the Automatic revising of analysis is Semi automated or Fully automated, select the revision mechanism:
    • Branch mechanism: Revisions of FMEA are created using the branch mechanism.
    • Revision mechanism: Revisions of FMEA are created using the revision mechanism, incrementing the major revision.
    In both cases, the new revision of FMEA is associated with the latest revision of the model.
    Synchronize selection with Systems Traceability Dashboarding Select this check box to synchronize RAMS data to be used in Systems Traceability Dashboarding.

    By default, this check box is cleared.

    Enable advanced filtering of rows Lets you filter rows depending on advanced criteria. For more information, see Filter by Applying Advanced Criteria.

    By default, this check box is cleared.

    Automatically reload recents from last session Loads objects that were already loaded in the view after a refresh.
