Creating a Contact Flange Function

You can create a contact flange in order to add a shape to a part. This shape is a surface and can be used as a contact zone.


Before you begin: Insert a surfacic functional set.

  1. From the Design section of the action bar, click Contact Flange Function .
    The Contact Flange Function Definition dialog box is displayed.
    Tip: This dialog box is interactive: it is dynamically updated each time you modify an option to represent how the chosen options will influence the result. The blue star near the option name means that it is a mandatory input.
  2. Select the Contact Surface on which the flange is created.
  3. Optional: Select the Intersection Fillet that defines a constant fillet at the intersection of the contact flange and the main input.

  4. Optional: Define a Clearance, i.e. a constant offset between the contact surface and the contact flange feature.

  5. Optional: Select the Consider thickness option in the case the offset operation is not necessary so as to link the created function to SFS thickness properties.

  6. Click OK to create the contact flange.
    The element (identified as Contact Flange Function) is added to thetree.
