You can define the functional properties of the function being created.

Define the Feature as a Function

You can define the feature as a function.

  1. Select the Behaves as function check box.
  2. Select the Sign, either Push (positive) or Pull (negative).
    • The Push capability enables you to use functions as tools to deform the surface by pushing into it.
    • The Pull capability enables you to use functions as tools to deform the surface by pulling into it.

    If needed, both capabilities also let you add clearances to some faces.

  3. Define the Category:
    • Stiffener
    • Contact
    • Protected Zone
    • Outer Cut
    • Cut
  4. Define the Priority:
    • Back
    • Default
    • Front

Define the Feature as a Modifier

You can define the feature as a modifier.

  1. Select the Behaves as modifier check box.
  2. Select the Operation type:
    • Push
    • Pull
    • Inner Cut
    • Outer Cut
  3. Select the function you wish to modify in the Modified function field.
